Phase 1 of Manchester Field Renovation is Underway, Focus Shifts to Phase 2 Funding.

Construction on Phase 1 of the Manchester Field Renovation Project began on Monday, July 6th and is scheduled to be completed by November of 2009.  Phase 1 includes a new artificial surface multi-sport playing field, 800-seat bleachers, electronic scoreboard and press box. Funding for Phase 1 of the two phase project was made possible by a $1,350,000 contribution of public funds from the town of Winchester and $229,560 in private funds from the Winchester Field Development Council.

With Phase 1 funding fully secured and construction underway the Winchester Field Development Council is focusing all of its efforts on securing the necessary private funds for Phase 2 of the project. The council is planning a major fall gala on November 14, 2009 to assist its fundraising efforts. Phase 2 of the project includes a new state of the art track and field facility for Manchester Field. For additional information on the Winchester Field Development Council and on ways you can contribute to this project please examine this site through the menu above.
